মাইক্রোসফট আয়োজিত বিশ্বের অন্যতম সফটওয়্যার প্রতিযোগিতার বাংলাদেশ পর্বে চ্যাম্পিয়ন টিম ইঞ্জিনের অন্নপূর্ণা প্রকল্প। দেশের বিভিন্ন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় থেকে তিন শতাদিক দল দ্বিতীয় পর্বে বিভিন্ন প্রকল্প প্রস্তাব নিয়ে অংশগ্রহন করে।দ্বিতীয় পর্বে সফলভাবে প্রকল্প প্রস্তাব অনুযায়ী সমস্যা সমাধান করতে সক্ষম হয় ৯টি দল।এ দলগুলো থেকে দর্শনার্থী মতামত ও বিভিন্ন মানবন্টন অনুযায়ি টিম ইঞ্জিন চ্যাম্পিয়ন হয়। তাই এখনি সময় দেশকে বিশ্বের সামনে পরিচয় করিয়ে দেবার।

ভাই শুধু  লাইক দিয়া লাভ নাই।

লাইক মারলে দেশের কিছু হবে না। "আমাদের দেশের মানুষ খাইতে ভাত পায় না, আর আপনারা লাইক মারেন? এই জন্যই ইন্ডিয়ানরা কয়, বাংলাদেশিরা নাকি দেশরে কেউ ভালবাসেনা।ভাই এইসব কথা শুনলে খুব খারাপ লাগে। মাঝে মাঝে মনে হয় আমার দেশ কোনো দিন Change হইব না। কারন আমরা নিজেরা নিজেদের ভালো দেখতে চাই না। কিন্তু আমাদের মধ্যে কেউ না কেউ তো চায় এবং চেষ্টাও করে। তাদেরকে কেনো আমরা Support করি না। অনেকে ভাবে যে Support দিলে তাদের লাভ কি। তাদের কাছে আমার উত্তর হবে, কোনো কিছু পরিবর্তন করতে হলে লাভ ক্ষতি নিয়ে চিন্তা করাটাই বোকার স্বর্গে বাস করার সামিল। আর এতোই যদি লাভ ক্ষতি নিয়া Tension করেন তাইলে আপনার জন্মই বৃথা। যে দেশ আপনাকে জন্ম দিল,আলো দিল, বাতাস দিল, সেই দেশের জন্য কিছুই কি করার নেই আপনার? এমন একজনও কি নেই যে দেশকে ভালবাসবে, দেশের জন্য কিছু করতে চাইবে। আর একটা কথা না বললেই নয়, মানুষের দুঃখ যদি বোঝেন ভোট দিবেন। এইটা কোনো নির্বাচনি ইসতেহার নয়, এটা ক্ষুদায় নিপিড়িত মানুষের ভবিষ্যত। আর এই ভবিষ্যত দেখার দায়িত্য আমাদের সবার।"

অন্নপূর্ণা এখন ওয়ার্ল্ড ফাইনালে চতুর্থ অবস্থানে আছে। প্রথম অবস্থানে আছে ভারত আর একটি প্রকল্প। তাই এখনি সময় দেশকে বিশ্বের সামনে পরিচয় করিয়ে দেবার।

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

At this moment, 850 million people are fighting a life or death battle against hunger. Every year, 6 million children lose that battle. Humanity has eradicated smallpox, gone to the moon, and connected the world into a single communication network via the Internet. But it has yet to solve hunger.

The problem is immensely challenging, yet the solution is simpler than we think. Research institutes have developed seeds that can grow in the harsh conditions present in famine afflicted areas. But the seed has to be chosen according to the soil. And the amount and type of fertilizer needed for optimal production depends on the type of seed and the soil composition of the particular area. Most farmers are unaware of this, and are hesitant to try unfamiliar techniques as their entire livelihood depends on it.

Annapurna puts this life saving information into their hands. It maps out agro-ecological zones using soil, seed and fertilizer data, and provides farmers information specific to their location. Farmers who are wary of using new seeds will be told about the exact steps they need to take starting from seed plantation up to the harvest. The results are nothing short of astounding. Not only will this information prevent crop failure, but it will increase production by up to 70%; saving millions of lives. When we take into account that this increase will take place for agricultural land everywhere, the potential impact becomes truly revolutionary.

Annapurna also tackles the other great problem facing humanity – environmental degradation. Worldwide, use of excess fertilizer has and is doing irreparable damage. If farmers know the exact amount of fertilizer needed, the problem can be overcome.

In the next 40 years, the world will need the food produced over the last 12,000. Annapurna is a voice of defiance and unflinching ambition in the face of these monolithic challenges that threaten the very survival of the human race. It is the promise of a better world.
